I made the big decision to move away from my
comfortable family life here in the West Midlands,
England, UK and travelled across seas to Vancouver,
British Columbia, Canada. Travelling alone with no
huge expectations, I oddly had no fear, just
excitement. Aged 19 at this point in my life, I had
never lived away from home. I didn't know what to
expect but I didn't really think about it. I left on
impulse which some may say is risky but what a well
worth risk it turned out to be. I attended the Masters
Makeup Artistry Diploma at The Blanche Macdonald
Centre and graduated in August 2009.The course was
fantastic. All of my teachers were still working in the
industry and had so many amazing tales to tell and
advise to give.

My name is Faye Michele Smith and I am a makeup artist

a college course in fashion and photographic make up

LOOKING FOR SOMETHING?
Working regularly on movie sets, fashion shows,
commercials, photo shoots and more, they had all of the
experience a teacher should have in order to pass on the
relevant information I needed to begin my career
successfully. The school runs a careers office where two
amazingly helpful ladies supply both current student and
graduates with relevant volunteer positions on a whole
range of work from makeup demonstrations in the mall,
to photo shoots, to fashion shows, student films and
much much more.

according to the size of the area I will be
covering and the work needed to cover it. Often
people require to have tattoos, birth marks,
moles and scars covered for almost any occasion
from weddings to photo shoots.

This can be for anything that includes a photo shoot. It is
strongly advised that I stay for touch ups through the shoot in
order to produce the highest quality pictures. I will be on
hand ready to remove any lipstick from teeth, powder where
there is shine, spray down any stray hairs and more. Small
details like these make huge difference in photographs and
small flaws are always noticed. I have a lot of experience
with photoshoots and know exactly what I need to look out
for.Consultations are not compulsory but can be organised if

Airbrushed foundation creates an even, flawless look to your
